About the Program

The Tourism Titans Grant Program is a dynamic economic development initiative by The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) and its Invest Grand Bahama Small Business Bureau (IGBSBB), created to spark a new wave of innovation and cultural energy in Freeport’s tourism sector. This competitive platform invites bold, imaginative entrepreneurs (both emerging and established) to pitch their best ideas for a chance to win up to $10,000 in grant funding to launch their business.

The Tourism Titans Grant is designed to support ventures that offer authentic, locally inspired experiences. From specialty dining and cultural tours to creative showcases and immersive adventures, this grant celebrates Bahamian heritage by providing funding, training, and strategic guidance. Our goal is to help passionate entrepreneurs turn their ideas into viable businesses.

This is a call to action for creators, builders, and changemakers who are ready to shape the future of tourism in Grand Bahama. Join us in transforming the tourism landscape and showcasing the unique beauty and culture of our island.

Program Objectives & Expected Outcomes

The Tourism Titans Grant aims to inspire and financially support the creation of innovative tourism-focused businesses in Freeport that align with and complement the major investments in Grand Bahama’s tourism sector.

The Tourism Titans Grant seeks to:

Encourage New Tourism Ventures: Introduce new, unique, and innovative tours that add value to Freeport's tourism offerings.

Support Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Provide grant funding to help aspiring business owners launch their tourism ventures.

Stimulate Economic Growth: Create economic stimulus by investing in winning submissions that enhance Freeport's tourism sector.

Foster Proper Business Planning and Management: Offer the necessary training, support and accountability mechanisms to enhance the chances of success for new tourism ventures.

Eligibility Criteria

Submissions that meet the following criteria will be considered:

  • The business must introduce an original or significantly differentiated concept from current tourism offerings in Freeport.

  • The business must be based in Freeport and contribute directly to the local tourism economy.

  • The business must offer a product, service, or experience directly linked to the tourism industry, including but not limited to:

  • Food & Beverage Experiences

  • Eco-tourism or Adventure Activities – Land or Water-based

  • Entertainment & Events

  • Local Arts, Crafts, and Souvenirs

  • Cultural or Heritage Tours

  • Unique Accommodations or Transportation Solutions

  • The business plan must demonstrate realistic financial projections, operational viability, and the ability to be self-sustaining within 3–5 years.

  • The business must commit to creating a minimum of 2–3 jobs within the first year of operation. Preference will be given to proposals that:

  • Employ Grand Bahama residents

  • Promote skills training or workforce development.

  • Applicants must provide a complete business plan, including:

  • Executive Summary

  • Market Analysis

  • Operational Plan

  • Marketing Strategy

  • 3–5 Year Financial Projections

  • The business should be able to launch within 9 months of receiving funding. Preference will be given to proposals that show scalability, and potential for expansion.

  • Applicants which are first time business owners must agree to complete the Entrepreneurship Certificate Program by the University of The Bahamas. (1st time business owners)

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions should be uploaded to the registration page at www.gbpacapitalarena.com/, on or before 12:00pm on Tuesday, 29th April, 2025.

All submissions should provide complete contact information:

  1. First & Last Name of Candidate

  3. Email Contact

All submissions should include the following:

  • Executive Summary

  • Market Analysis

  • Operational Plan

  • Marketing Strategy

  • 3–5 Year Financial Projections

Timeline Information

  • Business plans/proposals should be uploaded to the registration page at www.gbpacapitalarena.com/  on or before 12:00pm on Tuesday, 29th April, 2025.

  • Selected candidates (finalists) will be notified on Wednesday, 30th April to make their presentations on Friday, 2nd May 2025.

  • Wining Candidates will be announced immediately following the pitch competition on Friday, 2nd May, 2025.
